In the Gulf, most buying decisions start with a message to a friend or a quick look at Google Maps. A stranger deciding whether to trust you has one question: did this work for people like me? Reviews answer it better than any slogan you write about yourself.
The good news is that you do not need hundreds. A steady flow of recent, specific, honest reviews beats a big pile of old five-star one-liners. Here is a simple system you can run in ten minutes a week.
Ask every happy customer, right after the job is done, with one direct link to your Google review page. Then show a handful of specific, named reviews on your site. Never buy or invent them.
Ask at the right moment
The best time to ask is right after a positive moment: the delivery arrived, the project was handed over, the customer thanked you. Ask personally, by WhatsApp or in person, and send a direct link instead of telling people to search for you.
In Google Business Profile you can copy a short review link and share it as a button or QR code. A QR code on the counter, the receipt or the packaging works well for shops and restaurants.
- Ask everyone, not only the people you expect to be happy. Google does not allow filtering who gets the link.
- Do not offer discounts or gifts in exchange for reviews. It breaks Google's rules and can get reviews removed.
- Keep the request to two sentences and one link.
Make it easy to say something specific
Vague praise convinces nobody. Help people be specific by asking a concrete question: what did you order, and what stood out? A review that says the abaya arrived in two days and the fit was exact is worth ten that say great service.
For testimonials on your own site, ask permission to quote them, and use the person's first name, city and, when they agree, a photo. Real details are what make a quote believable.
Show reviews where decisions are made
Put three to six strong reviews on your home page, next to the main button, and the relevant ones on each service or product page. Add a link to your full Google profile so visitors can check that you are not cherry-picking.
- Name, city and date next to each quote.
- A mix of reviews, including one that mentions a small problem and how you fixed it.
- Photos or screenshots of real WhatsApp thanks, with the customer's permission.
Handle bad reviews calmly
Reply to every negative review within a day, politely and briefly: apologise for the experience, state what you will do, and offer to continue privately. Future customers read your reply more than the complaint itself.
Never argue, never reveal customer data, and never write fake reviews or pay for them. Platforms detect patterns, and in most countries fake reviews are a legal risk. If you collect customer names or photos, ask consent first, in line with Saudi PDPL or the data law of your country.
Build the reviews section with Uttra
Describe it in chat and preview it live. For example: Add a reviews section under the hero with six customer quotes, each with name and city, a button linking to my Google reviews, and a QR code block I can print. You can then edit the text by chat or by clicking the element, and publish when it looks right.
